I will play my recital tomorrow at 4PM at Austin Steinway Piano Gallery on Vladimir Horowitz’ Piano. Rose Taylor will sing the three Debussy Chansons de Bilitis.
We recorded “The Flute of Pan” today:
I decided to post an Ondine video from my recital run-through last Sunday:
I will play the Horowitz piano again tomorrow. I am learning what it does.
I made a Tokyo video with morning scenes from Minowa, Minowabashi, and Kiyokawa in Minami-Senju:

I am working toward my April 5th recital.
In the meantime, a macro shot I took with the new 35mm f1.8 Nikon Lens made explore on flickr:

I am pleased to have my Shinjuku Video featured on the Canon Europe Canon Europe site.

I decided to put some of my Regents School students on YouTube so their playing can be heard. Lexi is a 9th grader and plays Rachmaninoff’s famous c#minor prelude below:
I am eager to move forward on the Tokyo film project while I wait for my Peter Bay interview. He needs to postpone until the end of April. In the meantime, I will meet with Rose Taylor tomorrow to look at Debussy songs.
I made an attempt at subtitling for one interview segment of the Tokyo film. The owner of the Hotel New Azuma and another photographer are discussing the culture of Kiyokawa in Minami-Senju, Tokyo. The flickering unfortunately is florescent lights and I do not know how to fix that in post.
Should I change the position or color of subtitles or should I do a voiceover narration? I would like my Japanese friends and participants to be able to hear the original Japanese, but I could do a fadeout with an English voiceover.
Any ideas?
I recorded this tonight after I finished teaching at the Regent’s School.
This is one of the pieces I will play on an April 5th recital at Steinway Piano Gallery on Vladimir Horowitz’ piano.
