Thomas Mowrey has made a film with the pianist sisters Katia and Marielle Labeque called ‘The Loves of Emma Bardac,’ about her and Gabriel Faure and Claude Debussy. It is a lovely film, part documentary part fantasy, full of the music of those two composers, plus Bizet. As far as I know it is only on video (Sony Classical). It would be good if it could be transferred to at least DVD and, preferably, downloadable internet format.

It is available on DVD from Amazon in the US. I must admit I was not thrilled with this film. I felt the story line detracted from the nice playing of the Labeque’s.
Thanks for the comment!
