I am still very happy with my R8. I take it most places since it is compact and takes great shots. This photo made Explore on Flickr this week, as did the Tokyo Points video:

I had a great time at the Austin Film Society Mixer last night. I showed Tokyo Raw 3 and saw my work projected for the first time. The Canon Hv20 really held up well and gives me more confidence about the footage.
Austin City Limits has their big festival this weekend so I will be avoiding the highways!
This is another experiment with Tokyo footage and my synthesizer improvisation. It is a good way to delve deeper into the Tokyo footage while I edit the film.
I took this the night Hurricane Ike hit the Texas coast. Austin had a little wind but nothing else!
I am looking forward to a trip I am planning to Switzerland.

I am feeling a bit better, have a bit more energy, and feel on the mend. I really enjoyed playing for Caroline Cooper/Smiley’s wedding Saturday. 500 were in attendance and the ceremony was very nice. I was happy to be included in the slide show and really enjoyed seeing the family, grandparents, and friends once more. I am sure they will be happy.
My schedule is moving forward and I teach 3 days at the Regents School. I hope to start at the Austin Lyric Opera before long. Now that the wedding is over I am getting materials together to edit the Tokyo film and will work on securing funding and ideas for the Debussy project with the Austin Symphony and Peter Bay.
This photo, of Lodi Point, one of my favorite spots anywhere and especially in Upstate NY, made Explore on Flickr. It was taken with a 1.3 mp Motorola Razr phone. This part of Seneca Lake is my favorite and very deep, apparently 700 feet off to the left of the picture.

This picture of the lamp near my computer and music studio made #150 on Explore this week on Flickr:

I really enjoy taking photos with this new Ricoh R8 camera. The square format and the clarity have inspired new ideas.
Tomorrow I start teaching at the Regents School in Austin. I am looking forward to meeting the students and hope the schedule will ultimately be full~!
