Spring 2007
I realize it has been 2 months since my last post. It is time to update!
It is a busy time, again. I am preparing a Debussy program to play in Paris April 6-7 which will include Preludes, Clair de Lune, and Reflections on the Water from Images I. Tonight I updated the Debussy site to include a timeline of Debussy’s life.
More urgently I am preparing a 25 minute film to present with the recital. Since Pierre Jacquard is in Austin now, I want him to narrate in French so it will be easily understood in Paris. I am writing the text and translating it into French and am putting the images together. This will be one of 2 or three total Debussy films I will complete. I will shoot more in April since I have another camera with better audio and light performance, a Panasonic DVX-100b.
April 1st I will perform with eurthmists Beth Usher, Barbara Bressete-Mills and Julie Lamb on Bassist Nikita Storojev’s Jessen Faculty recital at UT Austin. I am preparing 9 Shostakovich Preludes and the eurythmists will move to 3 of them. I have chosen a nice sequence that I really look forward to presenting.
April 9th I will perform the last Brahms Intermezzo Opus 118 with Eurythmist Beth Usher at the Götheanum in Dornach, Switzerland. I also plan to travel to Lugano to capture video with the new camera, this time in 24p advanced mode. Footage from this trip will be used for a 24p Debussy film, if time permits to capture enough scenes while I am in Paris.
